Santa Barbara Daisy

Santa Barbara Daisy is a native to Mexico. It is a graceful trailing plant that grows 10-20 inches long. It is often toothed at the tips. It has dainty flower heads that are 3/4 of an inch across with numerous white or pinkish rays. It tolerates aridity. Use as ground cover in garden beds or large containers, in rock gardens, in hanging baskets, and on dry walls. It naturalizes easily. Stands root competition well; invasive unless controlled. It is often called vittadinia. The variety Moerheimii is somewhat more compact than species, with slightly larger leaves and flower heads with a lavender tint. Zones 8,9, 12-24.
