Dichondra is a ground hugging plant that spreads by rooting surface runners. Its small, round leaves look like miniature water lily pads. In shade and with regular moisture and nutrients, it can grow up to 6 inches and and it requires frequent mowing.
Australian Violet are tufted plants that typically grow 1 to 4 inches high. With time, they spread several feet, at a slow to moderate rate. Their leaves are kidney shaped, while their flowers are 1/4 to 3/4 inches across and are white or blue fading to white at the petal tips.
