Pachysandra spreads by underground runners. Its stems reach 10 inches in deep shade and 6 inches in dappled shade. Its leaves are rich dark green (yellowish in full sun), 2-4 inches long, in clusters along stems. Set 6-12 inches apart in rich preferably acid soil.
